OFFICIAL RULES
Qualifying
Period
Qualification
for the $500,000 Hole-in-one Competition will be from July 7-9, 2008 at
Warroad Estates Golf Course. Warroad Estates Golf Course is located at
37293 Elm Drive, Warroad, MN (2 miles north of Warroad on Hwy 313).
Qualification Period runs from 3:00-7:00 p.m. each day. Persons who have
not paid their entry fee by 7:00 p.m. each night will not be allowed to
shoot after the 7:30 p.m. cut off time.
All Participants must check in with the Warroad Warrior Athletic Fund Table
to pay your entry fee and to receive your golf balls used for competition.
Each golfer will be issued a colored ball for the competition.
Qualification shots cost $10.00 for 6 balls.
All
participates, either male or female, will attempt a shot at the pin from
approximately 100 yards away form the hole.
To
qualify as a “finalist”, the participant must be the closest to the pin on
any qualification day, two “wild card” finalists will be selected from all
of the remaining participant shots recorded throughout the qualifying
period. The two shots closest to the pin after the top qualifier from each
day will be awarded a “wild card” position. No individual may qualify as a
“finalist” more than one time though you may attempt to shoot closer to the
pin if you fear enough people will better your shot.
The
qualification period is four hours each day. If a portion of the
qualification period on any one day is cancelled due to inclement weather
which prevents the remainder of the qualification time to occur, a “make-up”
qualification time will be announced for the next day; the qualification
period will continue for the remainder of the 4 hour period that was
cancelled the previous day. In the event that a qualification day is
cancelled completely due to weather conditions, the “finalist” spot for that
day will change to provide an additional “wild card” position.
Because
we expect the 5 finalists to at least be within 20 feet of the pin, no
measurements will be made unless your ball ends up within 20 feet of the
pin. This will save substantial time when the first few golfers take their
shots.
A running
top 5 list will be kept for each of the qualifying days. Finalists will be
notified of their qualification either in person or via the phone number
you leave us.
ONLY
THOSE PARTICIPANTS WHO MAKE THE FINALS WILL BE SHOOTING FOR THE
$500,000!!!!!! $500,000 WILL ONLY BE AWARDED FOR A HOLE-IN-ONE IN THE
FINALS.
Finals
Each
of the 5 “finalists” will meet at the Warroad Estates Golf Course Clubhouse
at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008. In the event of extreme inclement
weather, the event may be postponed until the following week. Finalists
will receive additional instructions at this time and have their clubs
inspected. Prior to this time, participants are welcome to warm up in the
designated area of Warroad Estates Golf Course. You will be given a
regulation ball to shoot your Hole-In One shot.
No
finalist may be a member of the PGA or any other professional golf
organization. No substitutions for qualifying golfer will be allowed.
HOLE-IN-ONE
Each
finalist will attempt one shot to hit a hole-in-one. All finalists, men and
women, will shoot from a length not less than 165 yards. A shot is defined
as a “stroke” by the USGA Rules of Golf. Only one shot per participating
contestant per target hole is permitted. No practice shots, mulligans or
substituted shots for the other contestants are permitted.
If a finalist hits a
hole-in-one, that person will be awarded $500,000 in 40 yr. annuity paid out
by Hole In One International (6195 Ridgeview Ct. Suite A, Reno, NV 89519).
This will be subject to the conditions of these rules and the conditions of
the insurance company (as verified by the witnesses on site during the
finals). All 5 finalists can EACH win $500,000 if each hits a hole-in-one.
PRIZES
Prizes
will be awarded for the top three people that hit closest to the pin on
each qualifying day. Please see the prize board at Warroad Estates Golf
Course for more information.
Should
one of the finalists make a hole-in-one shot, information will be taken to
make the prize claim. Any of these winners will need to provide their
social security number and sign a W-9 form and W-4 form for tax withholding.
